Ever since the Express Entry system was introduced for the first time, there has been a rise in the number of candidates that are being sent the Invitation to Apply (ITA). The number of invitations sent has crossed the 3,000 mark for the first time in the draw held on January 11.
A total of 3,334 candidates were sent the ITAs and the comprehensive ranking system (CRS) points had gone down to 459 – the lowest ever in the past one year.
The candidates that have been sent the ITA will have to submit a completed application form along with supporting documents to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The submitted applications will be processed by IRCC in the next six months.
After the application has been processed, the candidate along with family members can settle in Canada as new permanent residents. The January 11 draw has been the second one that has taken place in 2017.
Looking at the latest two draws it looks like this will be a big year for Express Entry. It has been stated by IRCC representatives that there will be an increase in the number of ITAs issued as the government wants to meet out its immigration target for 2017.
When we take a look at the latest numbers, than it is clear and evident that the government of Canada is on its track to deliver what it had promised.
Based on humans skills, experience and capital, IRCC has mentioned that it will bring more newcomers. A clear indication to reach the 2017 goal came when improvements were made to the comprehensive ranking system nearly two months back.
A major change was made to the number of points that were given to candidates who had qualifying job offer. Changes in regulations were also made to applications that were received from people who obtained education in Canada.
Canada also plans to bring in 51,000 new immigrants through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
