The Express Entry Immigration system of Canada continues to go down the slope. The latest draw has taken place on 8th February with the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) point cut-off being an all time low.
The invitation to apply (ITA) was sent to all the candidates who had 447 or more points on the CRS system. These people will now be in a position to apply for permanent residency of Canada. A total number of 3,664 ITAs were sent to candidates.
This has been the first Express Entry draw wherein the CRS cut off has gone down below 450 points. The 450 point mark was considered important by many people as this was the lowest cut-off that the Express Entry system has ever gone down in the past two years.
By taking a look at the latest trend in Express Entry system it can be assumed that there will be a further decrease in the CRS cut off. This is something of good news for aspiring immigrants who wish to settle in Canada.
There is, however, no sure shot way to tell the exact trend Express Entry system will follow in the future. A representative of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) had stated that, in general low score can be expected in future rounds.
The predictions that have been made are in line with the changes that were made last November for the Express Entry system. Among the different improvements that were made, prominent among them were the points that are awarded in CRS that were reduced from 600 to 50 or 200 points.
IRCC justified the changes made in the Comprehensive Ranking System by stating that it wants to balance the system and give skills, human capitals and experience more weight age.
