Saskatchewan Occupations In-Demand Sub-category Reopened

Up to 1,200 new applications will be accepted by the Canadian province of Saskatchewan under the International Skilled Worker – Occupations In-Demand sub-category. This is part of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). The intake period for this program started on August 9th.

It is to be noted here that this sub-category program is not aligned with the federal Express Entry immigration selection system. Moreover, the applications for this program will be accepted on first-come, first-served basis.

Applicants who do not have any job offer are also eligible to apply for this program.

A provincial nomination certificate will be issued to those applicants who are successfully accepted. After receiving the provincial nomination, such an applicant will than be eligible to apply for permanent residency status under the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The present intake period is the third one till now in the year 2017.

Eligibility Criteria

In case an aspiring immigrant wants to become eligible for Occupations In-Demand sub-category, they should fulfill the following requirement:

  • Should have proof of legal status, in case the applicant is residing in Canada currently
  • Should have a minimum score of 4 in Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB)
  • Should have completed a minimum of one year of training or post-secondary education comparable to the Canadian education system
  • Should have a minimum of one year of paid work experience in the last ten years in the field of training or education. This occupation need to be there in the skilled occupation (NOC O, A or B) in-demand in Saskatchewan.
  • Should have a settlement plan or proof of settlement funds
  • Should have proof of eligibility from Saskatchewan licensure in case the profession is controlled by Saskatchewan and it is mandatory to obtain license or certificate
  • Should obtain a minimum of 60 points from 100 on the point assessment grid.
